The Flood, Fossils, and the Ice Age by Kevin Rose

We will discover how present local catastrophic flooding events help explain the global catastrophic nature of Noah's flood and its after effects. We will show how evidence is interpreted and which paradigm, the Biblical Flood or Uniformitarianism, best explains sedimentary rocks, fossils, and remnants of the ice age we find in our world today.

Biographical Sketch:

Kevin Rose graduated Brule High School in 1985 and served in the United States Marine Corp from '88 - '92 as a Sheetmetal Mechanic. The last 10 years he has worked as a trim carpenter both as an employee and running his own business.

Ken Ham's video series sparked Kevin's interest in creation/evolution in 2001. Answers with Ken Ham. The "lights went on" as to how fundamentally important the creation/evolution debate is to understanding the world in which we live. He since became active in his church, Christ Church Lutheran, Phoenix, AZ, and served as a deacon for 4 years.

Kevin now attends Concordia Seminary. His goal is to become a pastor in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod with an emphasis on teaching Biblical creation. Kevin desires to teach Christians that they can understand, defend, and share their faith Biblically, logically, and effectively.

Kevin has:
- Attended Creation College hosted by Answers in Genesis in the summers of 2004 and 2006
- Taught a 4 week Creation course to 6th graders at Christ Church Lutheran in Phoenix, AZ early in 2008
- Taught 12 week Creation courses twice a year to adults and children at Christ Church Lutheran from 2003 to 2008
- Was an active member of Arizona Origin Science Association (AZOSA) in Phoenix, AZ, 2004 to 2008. www.azosa.org
- Served as AZOSA secretary in 2007
- Trained volunteers in Creation Evangelism for an AZOSA creation booth at the Arizona State Fair in 2006 and 2007
- Spoke at AZOSA monthly meetings in the past year

The Fame, Flack and Fallout: Report On My Talk at the Springfield, Illinois Library in February 2009 (200th Anniversary of Charles Darwin's Birthday) by John Mark Henry

John Henry spoke with MAC back in 2008 and shared with us a "draft" of his talk then in preparation for the Springfield, Illinois Public Library debut in February 2009. We look forward to hearing how well it was received and of the audience response. We know this will be an interesting time with John.

Biographical Sketch

Mr. Henry is a professor of Mathematics at a community college in Springfield, Illinois. He received a:
- a BA degree in Mathematics from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL in 1980
- a MAT degree in Mathematics from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN in 1983
- a MA in mathematics from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN in 1986
John worked 6 years for the Department of Defense during which time he took their special training part time. He was "professionalized" as a Cryptologic/Cryptanalytic mathematician while with the DOD.

During the last 10 years, he has put together evolution/creation presentations in his spare time (about 1 every 2 years) and presented them at the local public library in the Springfield, Illinois area when he was ready. He always seems to draw a big crowd since evolutionists feel the public library is their "turf" which they are dedicated to defend.
